23rd April – Organisers of Nunney International Horse Trials are urging local businesses to support the prestigious event by buying a lottery ticket.

Held at Southfield House near Frome, the horse trials take place on June 13 to 15 and attract many of the country’s top riders. Horse trials involves the disciplines of dressage, cross country and show jumping with the latter taking place in the main arena which is surrounded by a variety of tradestands and food outlets.

The lottery was first introduced before last year’s event to help raise funds to ensure the event keeps running and has been re-introduced again as an effective fund raiser. Tickets cost £100 each and businesses and individuals who buy one are given a free car pass and a listing in the event programme and website.

Organiser Alisa Hunter-Gordon said: “It’s a wonderful way for local businesses to feel a part of and to support a top class competition in Somerset. Last year’s lottery winners, Db+Paul, had a thoroughly enjoyable time as title sponsors enjoying the benefits of branding the event and hospitality.”

The lottery will be drawn at Southfield House on Thursday, May 1 at 11.45am and anyone who has purchased a ticket is welcome to attend.
